About Us

Carly Detterman, CNM, MSCP
Carly has been working in reproductive healthcare since 2003. What started as an interest in helping families navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum morphed into a passion for reproductive health care throughout the lifespan. As she and her clients have aged, midlife, sexual wellness, and menopause have been her focus. She also has experience with chronic pelvic pain along with general GYN care.
Carly has a strongly held belief that a health care provider's job is to help people navigate evidenced-based information so they can make their own choices about their healthcare needs. She has a vision of midlife as a time of vitality and she believes that with information and attention, aging can be a time of growth.
Carly lives in the Berkshires with her husband and two teenage children and enjoys cooking for friends and family, spending time outdoors, yoga, and listening to podcasts. She has a commitment to working to ensure all people have access to quality health care and when she is not at her day job she works with Midwifery Exchange in Ghana and Volunteers in Medicine Berkshires.
Vanessa Ross, CNM, MSCP, CLC
Vanessa has been a practicing Certified Nurse Midwife since 2001, providing care to women of all ages. When she hit perimenopause, she realized her training had not prepared her enough for this phase of life. She found that other women's health providers were operating on out-of-date information and were no better able to help her find solutions for the hot flashes, anxiety, & weight gain she experienced.
Educating herself inspired Vanessa to become a Menopause Society Certified Provider and to provide evidence-based care to midlife women. Vanessa is also passionate about training other providers and has been an invited speaker on menopause care in local, regional, and national settings.
Vanessa believes that midlife is a powerful time for personal growth. She is a Certified Life Coach & yoga teacher and offers private health & life coaching for midlife women at vanessarosscoaching.com.
Vanessa lives in Florence and enjoys spending time with her partner and two amazing teenagers, as well as hiking, paddleboarding, & pickleball.
Client Testimonials
"Carly is patient first all the way. The personalized care I received, and the level of attention to my concerns are so rare in health care today. I felt seen. I felt heard. And I got help for symptoms beyond any expectation. I recommend her care to all women at the beginning, middle or end of this confusing journey!"

"Vanessa's expertise was invaluable as she helped me navigate conflicting advice from two different doctors. She carefully helped me weigh hormone replacement options, taking into account my specific health issues. Thanks to her guidance, I was able to make a confident, informed decision about the best course of action for my health. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking personalized and supportive menopause care."

"Carly was so helpful. I had been having lots of vague symptoms and feeling not like myself and had seen a bunch of different providers and had a lot of testing done. Not only did Carly recognize that all my symptoms were related to menopause but she was able to explain to me what was happening in my body so I didn't feel like it was all in my head. She really took the time to listen to me and I felt like for the first time in my life I actually got individualized care from a health care provider. It took a few tries to get my hormone therapy right and Carly knew a lot of tips and tricks to optimize my treatment. I feel so much better now and it's partly because of the hormones and partly because Carly helped me feel less alone and helped me to understand that this time of life is not an ending but a beginning."

"I am a menopausal woman in my 50’s who has always been active and health conscious. In recent years, I have noticed the numbers on the scale creeping up, despite following the same protocols I have always followed. This weight gain was very frustrating. I met with Vanessa to address this and other concerns around menopause. She conducted an in-depth interview with me, looking at the types and amount of exercise I was doing, my diet, alcohol consumption, etc. She made helpful and easy to follow suggestions about ways to tweak my habits and gain better control of my health. Vanessa is extremely well-informed and takes the time needed to help you understand what it means to be a menopausal woman, and how to maintain a desirable level of health, mental health, energy, and well-being once you reach menopause (or perimenopause)."
